Asian In NY 4th Annual Moon Festival and Fashion Show
This year we were invited to open up the 4th Annual Moon Festival and Fashion Show by Asian In NY. Though it was our first time performing at the event, we felt right at home. It didn’t hurt that the show took place in the New York Chinese School auditorium. Our commute was about 5 flights of stairs. Not bad! We didn’t know quite what to expect, but as we headed down for a quick run-through we quickly realized this was going to be a fun performance. It’s the dog days of summer, and looking back at 2012 so far, the Crimson Kings have had a very accomplished 2012 so far. From increasing membership to recording the first ever album, we’ve continued to forge ahead with a string of performances and new experiences for the Corps. Last weekend, August 10th through the 11th, we managed to check off another one of our big goals. We performed at Hershey Park in Hershey, Pennsylvania. This year we were invited to participate in the 33rd Annual Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Festival hosted by the Coalition of Asian Pacific Americans. It took place Saturday, May 12th in the heart of DUMBO Brooklyn. It was a great change of pace for us as we’ve been working really hard preparing for the upcoming recording session.
