WE PROVIDE FREE* MUSIC LESSONS EVERY SUNDAY for fife, horn, drums, and guard. WE ARE A YEAR-ROUND, SAFE AND PRODUCTIVE MUSIC ACTIVITY FOR YOUTHS BETWEEN 10 AND 22 YEARS OLD. 

*Lessons are free, however, an initial $25 registration fee and $10 renewal fee applies at the beginning of every session. These fees are to cover basic supplies and material expenses.

FEES

There are no fees for lessons. There is a one time non-refundable $25 registration fee which includes a tee shirt and pair of new drumsticks, new fife, or loaned mouth piece pending line joined. Thereafter, weekly lessons are free. Every member must renew their registration at the beginning of every block for $10. 

INSTRUMENTS

We provide every member with a loaned instrument and uniform. Drums, horns, guard equipment, uniforms are all provided on a loan basis during active participation. Upon completion of membership, all loaned items are to be returned in the same satisfactory condition to the Corps. 

Do I need to be a student of New York Chinese School to join the Crimson Kings?

No. Though a majority of our membership is made up of students currently attending the New York Chinese School, it is not required. We have an open door policy open to all youths in the greater New York City area. Our membership consists of youths from 10 to 22 years old representing all five boroughs and New Jersey. Some notable schools in which members attend include Brooklyn Tech, Stuyvesant High School, Laguardia High School, Frank Sinatra High School, Bronx Science, and Hunter High School. Should you be a student of the New York Chinese School, you will qualify for a tuition discount for active participation in the Crimson Kings.
